My girlfriend wont stop listening to Black Eyed Peas. She says "They are fun and make me wanna dance".

I need to find some "fun" "make you wanna dance" music so I can give her an alternative. Unfortunately this isn't a genre I'm very familiar with so I need some recs.

Can you please help me?

Well, The END by the Black Eyed Peas was sort of Will.i.am being inspired by Daft Punk and the French House (as well as the european dance) scene so you might want to start there?

I think he just wants to find some dance music that both of them can like together, not deny her what she already likes.

The Shape of Jazz to Come

Without joking, I'm not much of a "let's dance" kinda guy, so I have no idea. Maybe try and find a middle-ground between dancy stuff and stuff you like. In that case, I'd recommend some IDM such as Boards of Canada or Aphex Twin. Can't see her digging that kind of stuff though, so I guess... someone else take over from here please?

Actually a lot of Daft Punk would go down quite well, I reckon. But don't try to stop her liking Black Eyed Peas, either, as Puncture put.

Firstly, thanks for the relationship advice, I'll take it under consideration.

Secondly, I think you'd agree that a huge part of this site is to encourage musical exploration. I am just trying to give her an alternative, not rule over her musical tastes.

Edit:
Also, she knows what I like and enjoys a lot of it. I'm just looking for some recs on similar music so it's not the same over and over.

Here's some stuff I dance to on a regular basis, considering you didn't ask specifically for electronic music, just music that's fun and makes you want to dance.

Boogie Nights: Music From The Original ...us Artists.

Coco by Parov Stelar

Ray Of Light by Madonna

Kala by M.I.A.

Well, if she likes the Black Eyed Peas, then let her listen to them Laughing

If you don't want her to play it blasting loud in the house, then tell her that too.

Recommend her music she might like of course though, because why not? Disclosure, Daft Punk, Hercules & Love Affair, Justice, Primal Scream, Cut Copy, maybe FlyLo. Even Arcade Fire's last album.

Some dancey stuff I like

Daft Punk
Justice (it was daft punk 2.0, then daft punk came back)
Deadmau5
LCD Soundsystem
TV on the Radio

Also don't be disrespectful about her music taste. She listens to what she likes, you listen to what you like

Ok I guess by saying "she WON'T stop" I might have implied that I'm trying to make her stop.
Let me be very clear, you don't know me, if you did you'd know that that's not what I'm about.

I'm looking for fun dance music that someone who likes black eyed peas would also like. If it's not "mainstream" that is a plus, because if it's on the radio she's most likely heard it.

To those giving recs, I really appreciate it. To those whose only advice is "let her be herself" I reiterate, you don't know me, so save it.
