It's pretty great My favorite from them, I first thought that some songs were really long and I would get Bored, (yeah they are really long) but with time I discovered that The big charming of these songs, were their length, The great parts are on the details. But the short songs like shallow are also pretty amazing, It's my favorite, taking of that boring songs and pulling something "harder", and rocker. Also Lazarus is beautiful. _________________ Top 100 Hits you must hear before the u... of beauty

A ghost story soundtrack that was supposed to be turned in to a movie. It is my third or fourth favorite PT album. There are some good songs on this album - Lazarus, Halo, Arriving Somewhere But Not Here.
I dig all Steven Wilson's work.

I LOVE IT. It's my favorite. It's so dark and beautiful.
One of those albums that you can completely get lost into the soundscape, it takes you on a journey somewhere that's both disturbing and brilliant. _________________ <--suddenly...Bora!

Another outstanding work by Steven Wilson and his mates. This is their most easy listen for the masses but it still deserves all the credit for a PT fan. I really don't like so much the first two songs of the album but then... Start of something beautiful is one of my fews 100/100 on this site and a perfect song to stare on the person you love for the whole track and feel.

This album basically defined my adolescence. I've listened to it so many times that every little detail is permanently etched in my memory.

Since it's a breakup song, I assume you're talking about spying on an ex-girlfriend? But yeah, fantastic song. Best on the album.

I don't enjoy it as much as the previous release, In Absentia, but it's still really solid.
"Deadwing" (4/5) is a decent rocker, though I wouldn't have led with it. I'd have gone with "Shallow" (4/5), which has a more straight-forward riff. "Lazarus" (3/5) and "Halo" (3/5) are the weakest tracks. I especially dislike "Halo" (and really all of their songs with that style of bass line). "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here" (5/5) sounds like it's straight off of Stupid Dream. It's just the kind of sprawling song I can get behind. "Mellotron Scratch" (5/5) is the best song on the album (5/5). "Open Car" (4/5) and "The Start of Something Beautiful" (4/5) are good rockers after a long quiet period. Finally, "Glass Arm Shattering" (4/5) has such a pretty soundscape; it's a nice closer.
Overall, I give this 4 out of 5 stars.
