Don't you love songs that suck you in, the ones that form a soundscape for you to get lost in. I'd like to know which ambient/atmospheric song entrances you more than most.

All music I love transports me somewhere or somewhen or somehow. See my chart notes for evidence.

Ok, but does any ambient / techno song TELEPORT you to another dimension like in Sliders or Stargate, but not Terra Nova ?

Like said earlier, most music "transports" me, but here are my strongest examples (which will mostly be albums, lol).

1983... (A Merman I Should Turn To Be) by the Jimi Hendrix Experience - The whole entirety of Electric Ladyland could fit here, but this particular song transports me to a beautiful sea, floating away, fully tranquil. I had that particular vision when I was around 11 or 12, and that's the first "transport" I can remember.

Apostrophe by Frank Zappa - Holy crap, 12 years old, falling asleep, the psychedelic imagery is somehow vivid to me still yet so vague and distant. The Yellow Snow suite was a bizarre trip through who knows what, then Cosmik Debris, Excentrifugal Forz and Apostrophe were a trip through space. Thank god I was asleep by the time Uncle Remus came on that would have killed my trip.

Midnite Vultures (the song, not the album) by Beck - I think all my music trips are space themed. This one was a sexy alien hotel lounge, in the least pervy way possible.

The Disintegration Loops (specifically d|p 1.1) by William Basinski - I have no idea where this one transported me, which is funny because it was one of the most recent at only a little over a year ago. I know it was one hell of a trip because I couldn't stop listening, but relistens sadly don't give me that same ecstasy.

Nightvision by Daft Punk - This one made me think of a rainy, lonely night when I was 11.

Dopesmoker by Sleep - Stoned or not, try listening to this one on a very hot day, back on the grass, pouring water on your face occasionally. It's a great trek through the desert.

Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost by Shpongle - Needs no description, great music to sleep to.

Quite honestly, almost anything by Leonard Cohen! That guy sure does have a way of making any long song seem short!
