Sorry for thread spamming but for me there are many examples of bands releasing albums but at the same through their creative overload have dismissed and palmed away other great pieces of work that have barely been given the light of day.

Here are a few and I really recommend you give these a listen:

In for the kill - Balance Of Power - ELO
Dark City - Eldorado - ELO
Not Guilty - White Album - Beatles
Sour Milk Sea - White Album - Beatles
Child Of Nature - White Album - Beatles (Turned out to be Lennon's Jealous Guy)
Surrender - A New World Record - ELO
Little Town Flirt - Discovery - ELO (Lynne's take on a Del Shannon classic)

To this day, I still do not know why this song was not placed on the last album that my most favorite singer James Otto released named Shake What God Gave Ya! Yeah, it didn't get very far at radio, but to me it would have fit right in with the rest of the album.

God bless you and James always!!! Smile Smile Smile

A lot of the stuff The Zombies were doing that didn't make it on Odessey And Oracle really was great, few of them were covers but they were all so good.

This one follows Picky Bugger perfectly, it's a shame it didn't make the cut.

Weezer actually has a lot of great tracks that didn't make the album (Paperface, Longtime Sunshine, Sugar Booger, My Brain Is Working Overtime, Miss Sweeney, Pig), but to me, this one is the biggest sin.

It's a bonus track, but I always thought it ended the album very nicely and should have been on there from the get-go.

I honestly think if Neon Bible ended with this instead of My Body Is a Cage, it would be top ten material for me:

Got any examples I can try?

There are so many albums I can think of with this problem, but the one that stands out to me is Bob Dylans 'Time Out of Mind'. On that wonderfully crafted album about coming to terms with your mortality, Dylan thought it wise to leave off 'Red River Shore', which to me - and I don't think I'm speaking out of place here - is without doubt one of the greatest songs of all time.

The faster version of Revolution instead of the slower one - The White Album

I wish this could have been on Pinkerton (it is on the Deluxe Edition):

Another great song, but it's a bonus track on a deluxe edition of Who's Next:
