As a whole, this album didn't grab me the way Aenima and Lateralus did. I couldn't say why, and it may just be down to my own evolving tastes. Or it may be that I hold those two in such high esteem. I rate them both as the best album in their respective years, and the latter the best album of the 2000s.
This one only manages 3rd for its year, but it does have some great moments. The riffs in "Vicarious" are great and "Right in Two" is beautiful. Heck, it's worth listening to just for "Wings for Marie/10,000 days," which is lyrically devastating.
