Anima latina is not a Samba, Rhumba, or any other kind of South American album like we've had many of this tournament. Lucio Battisti is from Italy, and that language is Italian, not Portuguese.

Anima Latina by Lucio Battisti, nominated by creator.

Graham Parsons is one of those artists that the average person might never have heard of but the critics just love him. He was destined for greatness, but he died in September 1973. An album was compiled from sessions of the music he was working on at the time, and it was called, appropriately, Grievous Angel.

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons, nominated by sp4cetiger.

Monday's matches, we've got Supertramp, E.L.O., Blue Oyster Cult, and Van Morrison.

Voted for the Grievous Angel - an long time favorite. Heard Anima Latina sometime ago - it is not bad.

Shocked Wow. I haven't got a chance to listen to Anima Latina yet. Now I'm totally stoked. I worship Parsons though so just can't see me voting against him. I even stayed in a hostel in tampa once just because it was named after him. Not surprisingly it ended up being a really cool place.

Grievous Angel, easily. Quite possibly my favourite country album of all-time.

I'm not the hugest Parsons fan. at least not on an album basis. I always tend to love individual songs but not his albums as a whole, even with Flying Burrito Brothers and his Byrds work, although there's no denying that Gilded Palace and Sweetheart at the Rodeo are masterpieces.

Anima Latina has its moments. There are flashes, especially in triple AAA, which recalls 2000s Indie rock (such as the Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear, Sufjan, Animal Collective, ect.), but for the most part this is not my cuppa.

Honestly, not many albums would stand a chance against any of Parsons records for me including his overlooked International Submarine Band project.

Grievous Angel easily.

Plenty of Anima, but too much Latina.

Grievous Angel 10-2
