Man, if my musical taste was defined solely by the first of each of these that I bought, LOL

FIRST RECORD - Stay Hungry by Twisted Sister.
I was like 7 years old and I bought it just because of the album cover.
FIRST CASSETTE - Appetite for Destruction by Guns N Roses
Now I was 10 and I heard the music first. Hey, it was 1988... give me a break!
FIRST CD: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing by Black Sheep
Not the greatest hip-hop album, but The Choice is Yours is still a classic

NONE of these are on my top 50 albums of all time list.

What were your firsts?

Being 23, my first CD came before my first vinyl or my first cassette.

My first CD:

Space Jam by Various Artists

My first record (I think):

New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) by Erykah Badu

My first cassette:

Diamond Life by Sade

(I've never actually played that Sade cassette, but it was 50p and I thought it would be cool to own one of my favourite albums on three different formats.)

I love all three of these albums.

First cassette:

The Monkees by The Monkees

I was quite young, probably 6 or 7. I don't remember my first CD and my first vinyl records were my mom's old Beatles albums.

The first CD I ever listened to and owned was the Doors self-titled. Over a decade later, it remains in my Top 10.
