when i use a music site online, i usually assume i'm one of the older members, but it seems like there are lots of folks here with a big interest in 60's and 70's music (as evidenced by charts like this one), so maybe i'm not such a geezer here after all Smile (my own musical favorites skew very much to the 90's).

has anyone ever tried to survey members to find out the age distribution? i tried using a forum search to look for a post like that but couldn't find one.

I think many of the older users are less active on the forums, which makes sense. But there's still a small contingent of relatively geriatric users who frequent the forums (such as Norman and Sp4cetiger).

very interesting Smile

i'm curious... where'd you get such a strong interest in music that was made so long before your time?

i lived through the 70's (and part of the 60's), but i didn't really start absorbing contemporary music before 1975 or so. it wasn't until years later that i went back to learn about the albums of my childhood.

Well, I've just entered my college years, so if I'm a old geezer, then I suppose I better change my major to sitting on the couch and complaining about kids these days. Wink

Smile

it's interesting to see that even though much of your chart is 60's & 70's, you've also hit a couple of my all-time favorites (Loveless, and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea), and some other post-1990 albums i quite like (Nevermind, Mezzanine, Kid A).

i always find it interesting to run into people who are really passionate about music, but in very different directions than my own. i had one friend who had a huge CD collection, and I did too, and we only had 2 discs in common.

Nice chart by a wantabe geezer! And for the record, I am a real geezer here. I feel like I am one of the older ones, but it doesn't bother me one bit.

Oh and nice name. I figured there would be some Zappa on the chart with a name like that.
