I can't argue with that reasoning

Some summary thoughts...

I was always kinda meh on this album and this listen was no different. It has some obvious strengths, like Gilmour's guitar playing and Floyd's usual flair for arrangement and dynamics. However, the lyrics still bug me. Stilted metaphors like "the machine" and "riding the gravy train" make spooky feel more like corny. I don't have a problem with artists being overtly political, but it feels to me like Floyd has nothing interesting to say. The Wall will be the culmination of this problem. Their music tends to work better for me when it's personal, and I enjoyed the title track, as well as parts of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond."

Overall: 65/100

Is it Roy Harper singing vocals on Have A Cigar?

A fantastic performance.

Animals reigns superior though In my opinion.

definitely two of the best in the top 50 alongside VU&N, Joy Division's albums, Daydream Nation, and the Mingus pick

I was really disappointed with them to be honest! Took will power to get through them. There were pretty moments in Loveless. But nothing special.

Just wait until you get to the extreme metal picks in the RYM top 1000, heh.

Yeah, I can agree with that, at least in regards to Wish You Were Here.
