This result is dumb as fuck. There is like nothing to separate these two records in terms of quality, and yet Ice Cube is already miles ahead. For what it's worth, I think Marley Marl's production on Road to the Riches is at least as good as The Bomb Squad's on AMW, and I think G. Rap is the more technically able rapper in this matchup, though he's admittedly not as incendiary as Cube. I don't mind what wins here, but I voted Road to the Riches to stop this from turning into a totally undeserved whitewash. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Voted for my nom, obviously. Road to the Riches is great, though, and definitely worth a try. I don't think it aged quite as well as AMW, but that's the only major knock on it for me.

Voting Ice Cube. I was a bit underwhelmed by Road..., and if you compare it to othert proper boom bap of its era, it's not as strong as, say, Eric B & Rakim or EPMD's stuff. On the other hand, Ice Cube's rapping can be a bit tiresome to a foreign ear after a while, whereas Kool G Rap is very enjoyable to listen to regardless. I'm voting production here when I say that to me Amerikkka is the better album of the two. Overall production on Ice Cube's LP is more innovative, more diverse and a leap in quality to Road...

I agree with sp4cetiger & Master Bates - Road to the Riches is a bit underwhelming and most definitely D-A-T-E-D. Enjoyably cute listen though, and I've dug spinning it these past couple days.
Meanwhile, I'd be pretty stoked to see AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted win this whole thing. Still sounds fresh & vital all these years later.

I've finally decided to vote for Road, though I enjoy both about equally, i.e. they are solid records, but by no means favorites of mine.

Wow, sorry I haven't been around guys, I really appreciate being given this round to captain/moderate.
Obviously, since "Road" was my nom, I'm voting for it. I agree that AmeriKKA has aged better production-wise, but to me few people spit like G Rap does and I thoroughly enjoy every single one of those tracks, whereas I listen to AmeriKKKa and I kind of go "well, there's nothing wrong with it, but it doesn't exactly get me pumped either".

Road To The Riches
AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted bored me, while Kool G & Polo brought it
