Post subject: Question regarding my top 100 and overall rankings
Hi, sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place.
Recently I added an album that came out this year which nobody has ever heard of to 8th place in my all time top 100.
This pushed the album up to something like 74th in the overall rankings for 2014, despite the fact that nobody on this site has ever listened to it other than me. I found this kinda amusing.
A couple of days later, my ranking of the album apparently got disregarded by the website and now the fact that I have this album so high up on my chart no longer contributes to the album's ranking anywhere else on the site. It's now way outside the 2014 top 100.
I'm not offended by this in the slightest, I understand why this is the case. I'm just interested to know how the algorithm works. How low down my chart does an album such as this have to be before it starts to count towards the overall rankings?
So if I'm understanding correctly, any album on an all time top 100 list does not count if it has been released this year? And when it gets to 2015 it'll begin to count?
If so, cool, that's a lot simpler than I was expecting.
