I'm trying to learn to play this song on piano:

But i don't have a good ear for notes & stuff.

Could someone tell me what scale he's playing on at the beginning?

It switches from Bb to Gm a few times in the intro. Hope that helps.

Aren't Gm and Bb just different modes of the same scale?

Guys, Gm is the relative minor of Bb. End of discussion. Now improvise the shit out of that scale.

It's g minor harmonic scale, which means it has f sharp instead of f natural.
