This was definitely one of my least favorite records of the year. I think I tried three times to finish it, with no success. This album just oozes with the banalities of growing up as a white kid in '80s and '90s middle-class America. In those guitars and vocals, I hear every dentist waiting room, every minivan car radio, every yuppie coffee shop... it's not just that they sound like they don't have real problems, it's that they sound like they don't acknowledge that real problems exist.
Really, really not my thing.

What in the heck are you talking about? Have you even read the story behind the album? Did you listen to the lyrics?
I respect you giving it a few tries, but that's really quite the opposite of what this record represents.
