Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

Not as good as Black Saint And Sinner Lady, to me at least, but still phenomenal and one of my favorite jazz albums I've ever heard. "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" is fantastic _________________ 2023 Chart

I actually think it's a little better than The Black Saint and The Sinner Lady. Really great jazz album. _________________

A good starter for Mingus. Has the prestige comparable to BS&TSL, but it's more accessible. _________________

Fables of Faubus is a monument.
The other tracks are excellent, and so what we have here is quite superb.

A great selection of tracks. Better Git It is just full of propulsive joy, and the rest of the album is pretty good as well. However, it lacks the unity and downright mastery present on Black Saint. _________________

But what are some great jazz albums in your opinion? _________________ "I feel like for the last two years there’s been sort of a sonic evolution happening and I’ve been experimenting more and more."

Second best album of the 50's in my opinion. In my top 50 of all time too. It's just a truly glorious jazz album, I put very few jazz records above it. It showcases how amazing the genre can be. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

One of Mingus' unimpeachable masterpieces, of which there are at least four (I'll leave you to figure out what they are for yourselves). To pick one over the others feels slightly blasphemous, so I won't bother, but this was the first that I feel in love with and so it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
And yes, as Norman mentioned, 'Fables of Faubus' is monumental. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
