I figured since there is a forum for the songs you'd keep off of classic albums, I think we should have a message board about the best songs that aren't well-known. I'm gonna start with a list that's probably way too long.

"One of My Turns", Pink Floyd- The Wall
"Gone", Kanye West- Late Registration
"I'm Back", Eminem- The Marshall Mathers LP
"Electioneering", Radiohead- OK Computer
"Milk It", Nirvana- In Utero
"Song for the Dead", Queens of the Stone Age- Songs for the Deaf
"I Could Have Lied", Red Hot Chili Peppers- Blood Sugar Sex Magik
"The Bewlay Brothers", David Bowie- Hunky Dory
"The Air Near My Fingers", The White Stripes- Elephant
"The God That Failed", Metallica- Metallica
"December 4th", Jay-Z- The Black Album
"Butterfly", Weezer- Pinkerton

Agree. My favourites on that album fluctuated between Sail To The Moon, Myxomatosis and Punchup. But Punchup is just a great narrative:

No [x42]
I don't know why you bother
Nothing's ever good enough for you.
(By the way) I was there and it wasn't like that.
You've come here just to start a fight
You had to piss on our parade
You had to shred our big day
You had to ruin it for all concerned
In a drunken punch-up at a wedding
Yeah
Hypocrite opportunist
Don't infect me with your poison
A bully in a china shop
When I turn 'round you stay frozen to the spot
You had the pointless snide remarks
Of hammerheaded sharks
The pot will call the kettle black
It's a drunken punch-up at a wedding yeah
Oh no no

Same.

And One Of My Turns is a highlight from The Wall for me.

Anyway...

Here's the ones that jump out at me from big albums:
Lounge Act from Nirvana's Nevermind.
Respect from Biggie's Ready To Die.
Cactus from The Pixies Surfer Rosa.
Kissability from Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation.
Scenario from ATCQ's The Low End Theory.
It Ain't Hard To Tell from Nas' Illmatic.

And some less obvious ones:
Protex Blue from The Clash's self titled.
Cygnet Committee from David Bowie's Space Oddity.
Your Emotions from Dead Kennedy's Fresh Fruit And Rotting Vegetables.
Higher Than The Sun from Primal Scream's Screamadelica. Very Happy
You've Got Everything Now from The Smiths' self titled.
You Don't from Tricky's Maxinquaye.
