I just had a thought on the prayer topic... It's such a vast topic in itself I couldn't help myself. To me it's interesting that prayer is used in every religion that I have ever heard of. Prayer is said to be so powerful and even healing. For me it's hard to tell if prayer works or not because even though I do pray from time to time It's impossible to tell whether I am being heard, it's also hard to see the outcome for sure because if one were to pray for a baseball bat because it would make them happy maybe God would instead give one happiness some other way. Such as a copy of Led Zeppelin IV instead of the baseball bat (I am aware that this is an odd example). In that case the blessing from prayer may go unnoticed by the person who prayed. I think prayer is impossible to understand and to test if you have a closed mind or bias towards it. I think you have to have a completely open mind and dive in head first in order to find out about prayer. I don't know what any of the holy books say about prayer in detail so I am definitely no expert on the issue. Just some interesting thoughts. I am going to go research this topic some more right now...
