Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

One of their best without a doubt. John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy are just masters of their instruments.

This reminds me of my hipster youth: Masturbating every afternoon after school to John Petrucci B-sides (which are still much better than Mark Kozalek B-sides BTW).

In all seriousness, one thing I love about Images and Words is that it seemed like the closest DT ever got to a solid emotional core. Scenes From a Memory has its moments- as do several of their other albums- but the earnestness here never fails to fall into schmaltz, and any cheesiness withstanding only reminds us of our awkwardness.

A great collection of songs from Moore-era Dream Theater. Awake and Scenes are better as albums, but this has two masterworks on record (Pull Me Under, and Metropolis Pt 1).

I consider this album as a history changer in the music and Pull Me Under is the weakest song of the album for me.
