The only musicals I actually like are Les Miserables and Oklahoma, but I'm not that knowledgeable about it. _________________ "I'm so ugly but that's OK cause so are you"
Musicals are produced on stage usually in front of live audiences. They don't have soundtracks. Musical CDs are either live or studio cast recordings of the music from these stage productions.
According to Wikipedia:
"The term soundtrack refers to three related concepts: recorded music accompanying and synchronized to the images of a motion picture, television program or video game; a commercially released soundtrack album of music as featured in the soundtrack of a film or TV show; and the physical area of a film that contains the synchronized recorded sound."
Yeah, I've been lucky enough to see a fair few musicals. For the most part it's not really my thing, but I have to say I love Les Miserables - was lucky enough to see it on Broadway.
Amazing songs, really quality stuff, especially live. _________________ no fat chicks

I like that one, West Side Story and My Fair Lady. Otherwise I'm not much for the genre. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

GARY it seems we find another topic upon which we completely agree. Burton's Sweeney Todd is my favourite musical (and of the 6 others that I've seen from your list I thoroughly enjoy them too) and one of my top 20 films, with My Friends being one of my favourite songs ever.
