Love this album. This and Futures are two of my favorites of the decade. Too bad JEW hasn't been very good since then.

Nice album, although Clarity is much better. My favorite track is A Praise Chorus.

Also a huge fan of this album. I was the perfect age when it came out, and it really clicked. One of my favorite albums from my high school years, and for that reason it will always be a nostalgia trip when I listen to it. Not really a song I don't like, but my favorites are Get It Faster, Sweetness, Bleed American, and Your House.
I can't say I've heard any of their more recent stuff, but they were a pretty underrated band in the 90's and early 00's, mostly remembered as a one hit wonder when they really have much more to offer.

I'm actually a really big JEW fan. Love this album, Clarity, Static Prevails, and Futures.
Funny thing about this is that I own a copy of this with the wrong title (self titled).

Hate to burst your bubble, but it's not the wrong title, just the temporary American version:
Quote: | Out of concern that its title could be misinterpreted following the September 11 attacks, the album was re-released on October 9, 2001 with an eponymous title (Jimmy Eat World). In addition, the title track was renamed "Salt Sweat Sugar."[11] |
still probably some collector's value to it.
This is a great album, though, as others have said. Liked The Middle, but when I heard Sweetness on the radio for the first time that was a really changing moment in my musical tasets. _________________

I think it's not bad album but it's going in the opposite direction rather than maturing after Clarity. It's like the midwest emo sound wasn't popular so they hopped on the pop-punk/powerpop sound that was getting popular during that time.

This takes me back to being 15 years old, but unlike most of the crap I liked back then, it still sounds really good/holds up really well. For me, there's not a weak track on this.
