Listening to this album nonstop right now, loving it! I haven't listened to much Sufjan, so I'm curious as to how people liked it, how it compares to other albums, ect.

I haven't listened to it yet, but I imagine I'm going to like it quite a lot since the man can do no wrong by me. I absolutely love Michigan and Illinois; the other albums outside of those two are fantastic too, I just preferred what he was doing there. I'm not sure how it stacks up, but people haven't been this excited about Sufjan in years so that's a telling sign that he's about to get more recognition (and rightly so).

After multiple listens, I'm truly not afraid to say it's his best album to date. It just slightly tops Illinois for me. It's just stunning start to finish. Shares the same emotional breakdown and haunting vibes of For Emma, Forever Ago. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

I honestly miss what he was doing in his Age of Adz period (my favourite album from him) but it's still a sparsely beautiful album. Not on the levels of Michigan and Illinois, but I still like it. _________________

Yeah, I've been saying that it combines the best elements of Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. I'll definitely be giving his other albums a listen!

If there was anything that would put me over the edge and make me actually check this out, it's that.
That's high praise though ... IDK if it'll live up to that. _________________

I definitely think it's better than almost all of his albums, I don't know about Age of Adz though, and Illinois will probably always be #1 for me.
Man, deciding between this and To Pimp A Butterfly for AOTY so far is hard.

All these big-name artists need to stop delivering great albums. My 2015 chart is making me look like a tool (even moreso than usual).

I know It's only March too. They're super incomparable albums that both excel in their genre. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!
