Awesome until you realise Aftermath is the only stones album on here. Bit of a peculiar choice for a fav stones album.

Not really. I prefer beggars banquet (ever so slightly), but I'd easily place Aftermath in my overall without any hesitation. It's a five star album with tons of personality and sounds like no other album ever made. Definitely one of their very best.

I'd definitely argue that Aftermath is the best Stones record, and it's not even close.

Frogger, I expected to see more Animal Collective and Microphones/Mount Eerie, and thought for sure Animal Collective would be at #1. But this chart is awesome. The inclusion of Suicide Invoice and Yank Crime has me delighted. And was pretty shocked to see the Les Savy Fav record there. Very cool

Still one of the best charts on the website Smile Plenty of great artists here and fantastic albums by the likes of Leonard Cohen, Talking Heads, Tim Hecker and The Smiths.

Also includes Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt which is a good one you don't see everyday.

Thanks for all the love guys. Aftermath is verymuch my favorite Stones record, for the reasons Repo has pointed out. It's a very dark record, while still retaining some brilliant pop structure. I've left it off of previous charts of mine when I was trying to keep "big" albums off, but as you can see with this current one it's just my favorites, no holds barred.

And I love that Les Savy Fav record, it's a brilliant blend of Post-Hardcore, Pop-Rock, Art Punk and Post-Punk elements, and it includes one of my favorite songs of all time, The Equestrian (which probably is what puts it over Inches for my favorite record of theirs). Everyone should listen to it in celebration of chart of the day.

Let's Stay Friends by Les Savy Fav

Edit: Also Fred Armisen played some drums on this. And Eleanor Friedburger did some vocals.
