While browsing the track ratings for "Girl On The Phone" by The Jam I came across a user going by the handle "joannanewsom". Now, my healthy internet scepticism tells me Joanna Newsom probably doesn't use this site and even if she did she probably wouldn't use her real name as her username. I still wonder though if actual famous musicians use this site. Does anyone have any knowledge at all of famous people who have a presence on Best Ever Albums?

I sincerely doubt it.

I guess the life of someone who's become very successful in the music industry would be pretty hectic and they wouldn't find the time to visit frequently. But still, there's got to be someone who's made an account here who's hit it big in the last decade or so. No? It's not like it's the most obscure place on the web.

I doubt it, but some people who work in the biz... yes. Whether those people work for like Capitol records... most likely not, but I wouldn't be surprised either.

Also do you really think someone "famous" would admit they use this site just be treated terribly by the average population that doesn't realize they are just humans too.

Didn't know what to expect. Just thought it'd be an interesting question to throw out there and see if I heard anything back. Guess not.

I suppose my definition of "famous" could include anyone who's made an album posted here, and checks the site for feedback.

What kind of treatment do you think this hypothetical person would have to fear from the community on here?

Hypothetical answer: if we didn't know better, just the same as anyone else.

If we knew better and we respected that artist, we probably wouldn't question anything they said and would just worship them. If it was an artist we didn't respect... they'd probably quickly leave the site.

They also probably wouldn't post much in the threads, if anything at all and would totally screen if not completely ignore their private messages.

There are a lot of musicians on the site and some more "accomplished" than others, but none that are making millions of their music (that I know of)... or even more than the average American salary.

I suppose define famous.

Like is Jeffery Lewis famous? Cause I could totally see him on this site. He's a real down to earth guy and posts music history/music reviews or music related stuff on facebook all the time that's similar to what we talk about.
