From their humble origins of languished obscurity, our unlikely band of heroes come to face the most pertinent challenges of our time, no not poverty, not world hunger, but the far more tangible and far less likely supervillains currently staging a violent assault against BEAcity. The villains have been identified by Open Mike Eagle's surveillance as ShaneSpear, JoD, RepoMan, and Listmeister. All cruel unrelenting beings with plans for global domination, WHO CAN STOP THEM?
BEAcity is losing hope. Our loosely assembled squad of villains may be fighting against each other for now, but what little amount of thoughts of good fortune the citizens have is buried behind layers of cynicism.
Our first villain, the dreaded RepoMan has been spotted stealing candy from children and ripping tags off of mattresses. The horror! He begins claiming divinity, expressing he has been chosen by his lord to reinvent morality, which is really just some bullshit he made up so he can jaywalk wherever he may please. Nonetheless, he has a cult of brainwashed individuals obeying his command, this makes things harder
Against all odds our heroes have pulled ahead and RepoMan has gone running, unfortunately his super speed is matched only by his cowardice, he has armed a bomb, in the center of BEAcity and is making a run for it.
Kassem Mosse and Budos Band set off to chase down the dreaded RepoMan, while the rest stay behind to disarm the bomb. It's a complex circuit but it seems crackable, but there are only seconds left on the clock, likewise, RepoMan is seconds from escaping justice!
But will justice prevail? You decide! Your votes determine the fate of BEAland and remember if you vote for RepoMan you are one of his brainwashed cultists and your are leading to the explosion of your whole city, you monster.
Going for 2014 here. I think this is one of the only rounds where I greatly prefer the singles to the albums (while still good) on both teams. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!
Really difficult decision. 1984 contains four albums I love, and one I don't really care for, whereas 2014 contains five albums I love, though possibly none that I love quite as much as Diamond Life (and maybe Let It Be it, too), although Black Metal and particularly Workshop 19 come very close indeed. And as has been noted by others, despite the inclusion 'Million Tears' and 'Take On Me', those 2014 singles are far, far superior to their 1984 counterparts ('Never Catch Me' and 'The Lord's Favourite' are two of my favourite songs released this decade, whilst the others are all dope too). Leaning towards 2014 at the moment. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
what's the deal with y'all making every matchup really difficult this round? I could go either way. gonna give this some thought (listens) _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
