untrue and hurtbreak wonderland are in my 100 greatest all-time list, so this one's a no brainer for me.
*edit: important to note that 1967 is a great list (cohen, hendrix, the doors, capt. beefheart, the beatles, etc.), and my dad would definitely disapprove of my vote for 2007, but he's not here. fact is, the only albums i want to listen to right now are untrue and hurtbreak wonderland. so that's what's on the agenda for today. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.
Only one of these in my top 100 is Hurtbreak Wonderland and 1967 has 2 albums I'm not huge on... gonna go with 2007 for having Hurtbreak Wonderland, Untrue, and Hin-Fort. Great choices, and immense singles team. _________________
Even though I voted for 2007, I can't figure out why you used the original 'Can't Tell Me Nothing' video instead of the much superior Zach Galifianakis & Will Oldham version.

I didn't even know that existed I definitely would of. That's fantastic.

Uh, Hayden
Bro's was released in 2006
and Paper Planes was only released as a single in 2008
And meh. If people have that against me, then vote accordingly. Both of the songs came off of 2007 albums (and Paper Planes was hugely successful a slid 8 months before it was deemed a single anyway). If anyone has any issues with these, I'll gladly just use the albums they come off of in later rounds instead. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

But if we can just use any singles regardless of their release year, if their respective album came out in your year than that changes everything, including the teams up to this point.

If I followed these rules, I'd also be allowed to use Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah and The Jesus & Mary Chain's Just Like Honey. Which I'm sure people will find far more ridiculous than Paper Planes and Bros
I'm going to stick by my decision to use those two singles. I don't think it's too otherworldly. If you really want to though, just negate them from my team when voting. Nick only has 4 singles anyway. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

Haha, but that's not the point. The point is the game is only fair if everyone is held accountable for the same rules. We've had these rulings in past matches, and they have been ruled in favor of the RYM, or majority release date. The release date of its parent album doesn't matter. And no, you can't use a single like Hallelujah that was released decades later, as stated in Defago's original post.
I personally would've loved to use some singles off of 95 albums that were released in the year prior or after, but those aren't the rules of the game.

It's not otherworldly, its just breaking the rules.

Err actually you couldn't use those. You can only use singles from albums from conjoining years.
