Great album, the best by RHCP and one of my all-time favourites. A combination of funk rock and more melodic parts which fit in very well. Lots of energy and lots of care for the music.
Track pick: Californication, Road Trippin', Scar Tissue, Around the World

I've grown a big love for the title song since it was one of the first ones I learned to play on the guitar, I sometimes still jam to it, but goddamn these singles are so overplayed around here, that I Can't even stand one single chord of otherside.
though as I play lots of Rock Band, gotta say this album has some fun songs to say, "hell yeah" and then press yellow, blue, blue, and yellow etc.. _________________ Top 100 Hits you must hear before the u... of beauty

Always thought these guys got too much hate. They have some pretty bad lyrics, but I think on this album Kiedis excels at the "one line lyric that sounds deep but is actually pretty meaningless." Lines like "wave good bye to mom and pa" and "a teenage bride with a baby inside getting high on information" sound super meaningful when you first hear them but they really don't contribute anything to their respective songs. That said, a lot of these songs (Scar Tissue, Easily, Otherside, the title track) are really good, and Porcelain is an amazing departure from the rest of their stuff. The second half is kind of bad, but it's still a fun album to listen to if you turn off your brain and just jam. However,
