Anyway, 'Summertime in the LBC' is my #1 go-to summer anthem, every summer. Whilst other ostensible 'summer songs' might also be really strong, there's just something about this particular song that just seems indelibly linked with sunshine, daytime drinking in parks, driving around with the windows open, relaxing with your friends, basically summertime. I couldn't even imagine listening to it at any other time of year - it could scar the space-time continuum or some shit. "Three months of pleasure, how can I measure the relaxation, all the fun I'm facing?". Built around a warm, treated sample from Midnight Star's 'Feel So Good', but beefed up with a lolling g-funk bassline and the smooth-but-rugged gangsta tones of Bo Roc (a.k.a. I Can't Believe It's Not Nate Dogg), this song evokes summertime like no other to me. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
Summertime in the LBC is spectacular. :O I was somewhat skeptical of Skinny's vision of summer but you can call me Neil because I am now, umm..."daytime drinking in parks, driving around with the windows open, relaxing with [Neil's] friends,"
The other one is so dad-ish. I mean, it is father's day, but I'm still not voting for it.
