* cough cough*
Face to Face is one quazillion times better than this but this also hold a special place in my heart, and the bonus version with "Days" included is so much better, Love the kinks.

For me this is their best album, closely followed by Arthur. Both are nostalgic concept albums, very English, seldom imitated, and are IMO far more coherent to listen to than the rest of their back-catalogue (Face To Face, pfft).

Actually a great album. Less flowery and pop-oriented than much of the Kinks work.

Don't hate me for saying this, but the truth is that I like this album more than Revolver from the Beatles...

Great album. I rate the album before this "Something Else by the Kinks" slightly higher as even its lesser songs are still unusual and clever. Couple of songs on "Village green.." like Wicked Anabella and Phenomenal Cat let the album down somewhat. Totally agree that if you include Days on the album which wasn't on the UK original but perhaps on the US it becomes their best.
