Not sure how many Aussies are on this site but I heartily recommend "The Swing" by INXS from 1984 for everbody. They went on to become a pretty big band in the late 80's but this their 4th album is the classic.

The Swing was a good album of theirs but I do prefer Kick and Listen Like Thieves over it. The third album of most bands is the turning point and for INXS, this is definitely true.
sighs, sadly The Swing is INXS's fourth album, order of release and release year as follows
INXS (self titled) 1980
Underneath the Colours 1981
Shabooh Shoobah 1982
The Swing 1984
But I do agree with Borejko in that it was a turning point for them. The first two albums had a new wavish / post punk sound. Shabooh Shoobah, had a very rich, lavish sound, and is my favourite of these early albums and still remains an all time favourite Australian album for me. After it they pared there sound back, perhaps to win over the North American market, and succeeded. I lost interest in their music as a result.
Thank you for raising the attention of an Australian band.
