I would be interested in reading a bit about Ray Davies. Admittedly, although i love the music, I have absolutely no idea about The Kinks outside of the music.

Ray Davies book mixes fiction and fact and it often is intentionally hard to tell which is which. It is not a complete story of The Kinks but a good entertaining read in any event. Check out the Wikipedia article on
the book: (you will have to cut and paste the link including the (Book) since this fine editor won't accept it)
Dave Davies Kink (1966) is a more accurate autobiography of The Kinks. Or check out The Kinks, 2nd ed (2007) by Neville Marten and Jeff Hudson. Wikipedia has a pretty good short bio on The Kinks at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kinks _________________ Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by RFNAPLES

Flattery will get you everywhere good sir.
And I usually hate fantasy. Pratchett is one of the most underrated character writers ever.

that's a really interesting perspective, I've never met anyone who liked prachett but not fantasy as one of the main 'hooks' of discworld is the way he plays with the genre. But I agree he is a great character writer.

PAPILLON - (Henri Charriere) - An account of a 14 year peroid in Papillon's life, (1931-1945) at the Devil's Island Penal Colony. I've read this book twice and saw the movie made about Papillon. The Movie is good, but as usual, the book is even better.
MOON - (Tony Fletcher) - My all time favorite biography of a musician, and I've read like 80 of them, and this is one about Keith Moon. I've read this one 4 times (yes, it's that good). Hysterical, in depth, fascinating, but also very sad at times, book. It also shows and reveals things about many other famous people who were a part of his life. _________________ .

I've seen the movie "Papillon", so I might have to hunt the book down !
I have so many books on my reading list though, that there's a tower of them next to the bed (reminds me of some Paul AUSTER book, "Moon Palace" ?).
I'm reading Stephen KING's "It" at the moment.
Loving "it" ! _________________ I'll be your plastic toy.
