As per the last few comments on the EVOL thread, what are the best three consecutive albums that a band/artist has released? For me it's gotta be Talk Talk's last three (Colour Of Spring, Spirit Of Eden, Laughing Stock).

Talk Talk is a good call.

Supertramp and The Kinks have each put out four incredible albums one after the other, so they both have two awesome three-album streaks Razz

The others I can think of atm are principally Ramones (their first three are flawless), Antony (though one of them stands miles above the other two), The National (from Alligator to High Violet, for me), The Replacements (though Pleased To Meet You is nowhere as brilliant as the previous two), Mobb Deep (starting with The Infamous obvs), the Stones (ending with Exile).

Also, inb4 Mercury says Vampire Weekend, purple says Joanna, nezzle says Ghostface, Norman says Nick Drake and revolver says Holter.

I definitely agree with the Talk Talk one, but here's a few more
Modest Mouse's first three albums
Darkthrone's unholy trinity
Neil Young's ditch trilogy
Metallica: Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All
Rush: 2112, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres
Genesis: Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Black Sabbath's first three albums
Nick Drake's discography
My Bloody Valentine's discography
Elliott Smith: Elliott Smith, Either Or, XO
The Smith's first three albums
The Cure: Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography
Tom Waits: Swordfishtrombones, Rain Dogs, Franks Wild Years
The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album
Led Zeppelin: IV, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals
Bruce Springsteen: Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town, The River
Radiohead: The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A
Nirvana's discography
The Velvet Underground's first three albums

That's all as of now

So many to list...

Love: any of the first 4. Applause

You can pretty much pick any 3 from The Beatles.

Pink Floyd: from The Dark Side Of The Moon to The Wall.

The Jam: from All Mod Cons to Sound Affects.

The Who: from The Who Sell Out to Quadrophenia.

The Clash: from The Clash to London Calling.

I agree with many of yours.

I would say any of the first four by King Crimson.

That's 4 Sad It rivals the Velvet Underground's 4-run streak too.

Radiohead, Arcade Fire, The Beatles, Nick Drake, Talk Talk..etc.. Too hard to choose.
