I have a vinyl shelf, a CD drawer, and a terabyte of mp3s.

What else is new?

digital, for sure. best format because it doesn't have an innate duration limit.

i believe the last side "metal machine music" had a ridge that just sent the needle back to the beginning, thus giving it an infinite runtime.

comments like yours also make me wonder what it would be like to listen to "since i left you" or something like that on vinyl

Digital (streaming) most of the time, but I also listen to CDs in the car, and vinyl at home.

ah nah it just has a locked groove at the end so that the last tiny bit would be playing on a loop. still though, you're not going to find a 40 minute composition without interruption on vinyl, or a 90 minute composition on cd.

Pretty much the same, although I use a diskman instead.

I purchase all my music physically, so I have a lot of CD's and a crate's worth of Vinyl, but I keep them in my bedroom, which is my preferred way to hear music. Outside of my room I use headphones and my phone, or aux cable and phone in the car. If I want to hear something new I'll stream it somewhere, but I mostly spend my time with what I own.
