Yeah, I used to review albums and tracks, but I don't feel too compelled to do so anymore

If anyone could give me a "starter pack" (maybe around ten albums or so) for each black metal subgenre it'd be highly appreciated. Once I listen to them all I'll report back. Another thread I've neglected as of recent that I could use to open up some discussion, and I need to get back to editing that OP at some point.

Trying to keep better tabs on metal releases this year. RYM is doable-ish, but it takes lots of digging to make sure I'm not missing anything I might like. Anyone have preferred metal sources for someone whose favorite subgenres are black, death, and I guess more and more lately grindcore and thrash? Anything anyone wants to recommend from the past month for me to look into?

I used to keep together a list of blogs for various metal genres but I’ve lost track of them, but I imagine I might be able to dig up something worthwhile but maybe these threads on Metal Archives could help you out?
