- Post subject: THE BEA (NOT IN TOP 20 RANKED BANDS) PLAYOFFS

Hello all. The first step is over - the nominations and we move onto the 2nd round of 3. Now before I explain it i want to make it clear to everyone to feel free to advise changes or complete overhauls if you think the concept stinks.
Anyhoo without ado, The Playoffs! well it's not really a playoffs as such more of a league really. There were 48 different bands nominated (you'll now see why I was clambering at the end for a specific number) and that is obviously a decent amount. So I have divided the bands into 12 even groups of 4 (organised randomly, obviously the only fair way) and the bands will duke it out for a spot in the elimination game.
Now as awesome as the idea of the Wu-Tang Clan taking on Sonic Youth in a physical brawl is, GZA and Thurston moore never got back to me. So what I propose is a series of thread polls each one one battle (i.e The Beatles vs Radiohead) with each band in a group versing off against each other in a series of matches and a victor should be decided by number of votes (there'll likely be 6 matches concurrently running).

by the end of all the playoffs (72 battles for maths fans) the top 2 from each group shall go through to the 3rd and final round (the more traditional elimination/survivor game).
Now i'm not a sports expert so If anyone wants to point out blantant flaws in the overall plan please do.
And folks please please let me know whether you think we should go through with this or not as I won't kick it off, so to speak, until I get a couple of A.O.K's

I like this idea.
Maybe albummaster can make a subforum for this tourney. I'm not saying it would get in the way here or anything, but it seems it would be a cool thing to have all these matchups in one forum for easy access and posterity.
