He was by all non-stan accounts a terrible and abusive human being. |
Agree with all three points, but I'm going to say he suffered worse than prison justice. That's not a good way to go. I didn't particularly enjoy anything about him either, but it's definitely a shock. Especially after a #1 album and whatnot. He's going to be a controversial figure for a long time to come.
And I'm going to go on a limb and say they won't find the killer, so, there's that too. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

Geoffrey Oryema's Exile has had a solid placement on my African music chart since I started it... it's a really great album, and I'm hoping many people on here get the chance to give it a spin. Sadly, he passed away yesterday. RIP. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

Upon looking to see if he had recorded anything recently, just found out that Fred Chalenor, of Tone Dogs, Caveman Shoestore, late-period Curlew, et al., died sometime within the past two months. One of the greater treasures I picked up from Scaruffi's website. He was like an underrecorded Bill Laswell, often straddling the line between rock and jazz. Could compete with Sandman, Mike Watt, Sasha Frere-Jones, Laswell, or Jah Wobble for favorites all day any day.

Aretha Franklin has passed away. Also been almost a good month since a famous musician has died.

^^^ She wasn't one of my favorites, but I do like her "Freeway" song. I pray that her transition was a peaceful one.
God bless you and her family always!!!

I need to listen to Aretha. Enjoyed some songs from her. Agreed to the other statements.

Oh man. I love Aretha Franklin's music. She was one of the best soul singers ever. One of the best ever singers period. Such an amazing body of work.
She will be sorely missed.
