First of all, I'd like to say something.

I love this picture.

Second of all, I just added a couple of Van Halen albums to BEA and I was wondering, what's your favorite Van Halen album if you have one?

For me, it would be 1984. I've heard four of their albums, and that one's the best. The first half would've been much more for me if it wasn't for freakish radio play.

btw, the poll is NOT for the albums, obviously. I figured the singers discussion would be more interesting, and would add more to the thread.

I actually have a soft spot for Van Halen. They're nothing special(imo) but they can be fun ti listen to.

My favorite album of theirs is their debut.

And I'll obviously pick David Lee Roth. He's the man.

four of their* albums. Van Halen is a band.

My favorite Van Halen album is their eponymous debut.

Van Halen tend to bore me, but I can't deny that they're all very talented musicians. I suppose my fav would be their debut. I like about half of the tracks on that

I think both lead singers had their moments and Sammy gets panned a lot more than he should be. That being said I voted for Diamond Dave because he's what comes to mind first. For better or worse he created the prototype for the 80s arena rock front man.

I rank their albums as follows. It's pretty back and forth between the 2 front men for me.

Van Halen
5150
1984
OU812
For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge
Van Halen II
Women and Children First
Diver Down
Fair Warning
Balance
A Different Kind of Truth
Van Halen III

(oh, and you forgot Gary Cherone in the poll but I seriously doubt anyone would ever cast a vote for him)

Damn, that's a pretty low spot to put Fair Warning. I find that to be one of their stronger albums.
