IMO it doesn't get any cooler than Bob Marley. I voted for Joy Division because I like their music more.

Truesay, I momentarily forgot about all the habitual Pitchfork readers on this site.
I do genuinely love Joy Division, but for me Bob Marley is in a league alongside the likes of The Beatles, Springsteen, Prince et al.
Bob Dylan has his own league.

you can't contribute Joy Division's winning to Pitchfork reading, that's just retarded. The two bands are totally different genres, I prefer whatever-the-fuck-Joy-Division-is over reggae. I own four marley albums, three of which I play consistently but I can't love any of them as much as I love Joy Division's work. Also, the size of a musician's body of work is not consistent with quality, e.g. Cher

I think Ian Curtis would have been embarrassed to be rated higher than Bob Marley. I don't think a lot of thought has gone into this one, or maybe we all hate ourselves and want to die? 
Actually, it's ridiculous comparing them. I love both equally
