A genre defining classic. I personally will take Powerslave and Seventh Son over it, but what a way for Bruce Dickinson to introduce himself to the world.
The bottom line is that any record that ends with a song like Hallowed Be Thy Name is one worth checking out. Plus the album cuts like Prisoner, 22 Acacia Avenue, and Children of the Damned are some of Maiden's best. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.

It's a shame that metal is so underrated on this site. I mean some classics are high on the lists, but then some other great albums are criminally undervalued. And no one seems to talk about it, all metal albums have so few comments.

Yeah, it's a shame "Hallowed Be Thy Name" was never a studio single, because it's been one of my favorite songs ever ever since middle school. Absolutely chilling, and one of the highlights of all of metal.

100% agree. Beautiful song to hear scratch that... experience live.
You ever hear the Beast Over Hammersmith version? It's arguably the best I've heard Bruce Dickinson on record. A co-worker of mine who's been into Maiden since the mid 80's said once about that, "He's not one fucking percent flat." _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
