One of the most introspective and intimate albums I've ever heard. It gets so emotional my heart can't take it sometimes. Absolutely adore it. _________________

I've listened to this album on a regular basis for probably 5 years now and it's potency has never waned, not even a little. Someone recently left a comment on my chart questioning me for including Deerhunter in my overall top 10, and it made me pretty angry. I can only hope they haven't actually listened to this album. I have a hard time believing that anyone can listen to this (preferably loudly, through headphones, and in a dark setting) and not be affected by it.

It's ultimately pretty derivative. That doesn't detract from its quality per se, but I can understand some people not being all that inspired by it. This kind of music has been done better many times before.
I personally think it's one of the better indie rock albums of the last 10 years or so. 'Helicopter' and 'He Would Have Laughed' are really excellent songs.

I was a little late to the Deerhunter party, but this has been a favourite of mine for a couple years. Lovely. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.
