This one was waaayyyy ahead of its time. Great prog album that set an impossibly bar for all other bands, including later efforts by King Crimson themselves, to try to match.

What is the greatest progressive rock album of all time? For most, it's The Dark Side of the Moon. For many others, it's Wish You Were Here. For others yet, it's The Wall. But for me, it's definitely In the Court of the Crimson King.
"Moonchild" is really starting to grow on me, "I Talk to the Wind" is excellent, "Epitaph" and the title track are phenomenal, and "21st Century Schizoid Man" is one of my favourite songs ever recorded. The version of the album that I bought on iTunes also includes a live recording of another excellent track, "A Man a City".

Yes, ITCOTCK is one of the greatest albums of all time and a landmark prog album. A few days ago, Greg Lake, singer and bassist for this album died, so this album of the day is a good moment to remember him. I especially appreciate his vocals in "Epitaph", one of the best songs I have every listened to.
BTW, King Crimson are back on tour and I was able to attend to one of their shows in Spain - I highly reccomend fans to go. They played many of their classic tracks, 3 of them were from this album (I'm sure you can guess which 3)
