Tough choice, especially since both were my nominations. Definitely comparing apples to kumquats here with one being very progressive, female fronted technical metal and the other being pure knuckle dragging viking metal. Like the majority, I opted for Aghora here--it seems more legit while Tyr dances close to novelty material.

Not my favorite Tyr, but even with that said I don’t much care for the Aghora self-titled all that much and Tyr still holds pretty comfortably as one of my favorite folk metal bands of all time. This would be their last “pure” folk metal album as they would later experiment with progressive and power metal dynamics on their subsequent releases. But not a bad collection of songs that define Tyr’s “first era”.

Still looking for another vote to break this tie. Or if anyone has any other ideas for how to decide this matchup I'm all ears.
