I was just thinking how few foreign language songs became hits in the U.S.. And I can only think of a few top 40 hits that were sung entirely in Spanish. Obviously in non-english speaking countries there's lots of non- English hits, but what songs do you know that were Spanish language hits in an English-speaking country? I can think of these ones:
Oye Como Va. Santana
La Bamba. Los Lobos
Macarena. Los Del Rio
Corazon. Carole King

Besame Mucho by Consuelo Velazquez is one of the greatest spanish songs ever, even The Beatles covered it.
Also there's a lot of artists with spanish albums or songs:
Natalie Cole, Andrea Bocelli, Joan Baez, Gorillaz, The White Stripes, Queens Of The Stone Age, etc.

Very true, but I was talking about actual top 40 hit records. There's plenty great Spanish language albums by English-speaking performers though. I kind of like the ones by Linda Ronstadt especially.
Oh, and I thought of another top 40 hit sung entirely in Spanish:
Tequila by the Champs!!!

Tico Tico was a hit in the 1950's by Xavier Cugat, but it's actually Portuguese not Spanish.
