Billy Joe Royal was a very good writer. Not too familiar with the others.

I almost put elton john n taupin too, but their great period was so short that i didn't. Even tho ALL the people i listed I was only referring to a specific period of their careers. Not their entire career. The average length that a writer is in their prime is usually a decade if that. Or so it seems. Actually its the same with performers. Very few are making the same quality music after 10 years that they were at the time of their initial breakthrough. There's exceptions, but they're rare.

Thank you for saying this! The only downside to him was that there were only like three songs released that were written by him: "Love Has No Right", "How Hard Can It Be?", and "This Too Shall Pass". James Otto co-wrote the 2009 ACM and CMA Song of the Year from Jamey Johnson named "In Color" as well as "No Hurry" from the Zac Brown Band and "Holding Her" from Chris Janson (known for "Buy Me A Boat"). One of my most favorite songs from Lee Roy Parnell was self written named "Giving Water To A Drowning Man" and Steve Sanders wrote the B side song to the "Bobbie Sue" 45 record from the Oak Ridge Boys named "Live In Love" as well as a song named "I'm Over You, You're Over Me" which you can check out here...I love him so much.
God bless you and James and Lee Roy always!!!
