Post subject: Classics you haven't listened to much/ever.
Title says it all. What Classics, masterpieces (or whatever you want to call them) have you barely listened to or even at all?
Television - Marquee Moon
I have no excuse on this one. It's been floating around since I joined the website (on an old deleted account) a few years back. I'm finally listening to it tonight.
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Last time I couldn't get past the first two songs. I was just not impressed because I guess I was expecting more. I'm listening to it now and it's a bit better but I don't see the masterpiece people make it out to be.
Yes - Close To The Edge
I haven't listened to this at all. Not a big progressive fan.
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
Honestly, I haven't even thought about listening to this. Shameful.
Galaxie 500 - Today
It's arguable that this is even a classic but it's my post, and I can do whatever I want (I'm legalizing everything!) so...in your face...I guess? Anywho I love me some Galaxie 500 but I love their 2nd and 3rd LP so much that they have kind of overshadowed this.
Here are a few more that I barely have reasons for:
The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin (I listen to Yoshimi so why not this?)
Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica
MBV - Isn't Anything (Not a big fan of this one)

I listen to Today the most actually. On Fire second but never This Is Our Music. Today has "Flowers", "Tugboat", "Don't Let Our Youth Go To Waste" and "Oblivious" on it, so I'm set.
With Isn't Anything though, I never peep it anymore but I know I love it.
As for my classics... Probably anything by The Rolling Stones. I consider four of their albums to be classics but never give them much of a second glance. Sticky Fingers would have to be my favourite. _________________ Some RYM paraphernalia:
Those are some of my favorite albums. I'm jealous that you're going to experience them for the first time.
I've never listened to a Metallica album.
I'm pretty excited about Television for sure. The Metallica thing isn't that crazy and you'll see why in a second. It's definitely something to expirience.

I am going to sound like a moon or some sort of music poser right now.....I haven't listened to a Rolling Stones song...EVER! HOW HAVE LISTENED TO ALL THIS $*** (NOT TO SAY ANY OF THIS IS BAD, ITS PHENOMENAL WHAT IS OUT THERE) AND NOT AN ESSENTIAL BAND?! Truth be told It's probably because my family doesn't really care for the stones and I've never thought twice about it. I think my life is gonna change a little tonight.
