I just got "The Soft Bulletin" and immediately loved it. I dont have the ability to download music or anything and i value the opinions of most of the people on this site. So what are there 3 or 4 best albums to buy? _________________ Having a family is the kind of thing that could be held against a person

2. Embryonic 80/100.
3. At War With The Mystics 80/100
4. Transmissions from the Satellite Heart 65/100

Soft Bulletin deserves IMO a good 65/100, so it the 5th place in my favorite FL albums. i kinda like it but it's not an album that i usually recommend, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots is so so much better !! let me know what you think about it if your planning to listen it.

Who is the LEAST fan of the flaming lips? That would be I.
The lead singers voice is worse than Jeff Mangum and the singer of Arcade Fire's put together. This is some bubblegum non-sense. I have tried soft bulletin and pink robots over ten times and no go for me. _________________ And I stare at the sun.

Given your opinion of my chart, I guess it's no surprise then that I loved Yoshimi on the first listen after Cartoken turned me on to it during our little listening challenge a couple months back. I'd been turned off of the band from the first single I'd heard, "She Don't Use Jelly" and ignored them since whatever it was, 1997 or so. But I admit Yoshimi is a sonic masterpiece.
Any accusation that it's "bubblegum" is just someone trying to be pretentious and failing miserably _________________ <(: @ >

Well for an old man you sure act like you're the youngest kid on the site. See it's my opinion of the group, and my opinion can not be wrong when the issue at hand cannot be solved by some sort of empirical data. So you are looking dumb having some sort of problem with me b/c I gave your chart a poor rating (along with a lot of other people). Therefore, you are proving yourself as a little immature baby just because I didn't like you're little chart. Let it go fool.
And also if you look back in your PM's I asked you advice on some catherine wheel albums and I did give them a chance and I did not like them. Thanks for your help, but when I say I don't like a band or your tastes I'm not saying you're a 35 yr old fag. Just that yr music tastes are not for me. And you're being a little baby getting all butt hurt and trying to defend you're musicians. You think the Flaming Lips are somewhere reading this and being like 'Oh wow that charicture guy is defending us. He is a friend' They don't give a fuck about you so quit getting so defensive about them. They blow and their albums are targeted towards 17 year old girls (because most people I know who are their fans are 17 year old girls I know).
You can say my chart sucks, but I know you love it baby. _________________ And I stare at the sun.

Hey, I didn't lie in my comments on your list - I like some of your choices (they're not my tops, but I like them and can appreciate them being in a top 30 or 50), but don't understand others. At least I was more detailed than "I haven't heard most of your list, but the few I have tells me all I need to know". In cases where I haven't heard most of a person's list, I just don't rate it. _________________ <(: @ >
