Shankly, didn't you say you agreed with Flynn, who wants higher prices? Wouldn't that lead to more gouging?
What I agree with is that America needs to move away from its high dependence on oil (especially, foreign oil) and start to embrace alternative energy sources more. Even more so, there are things people can do to reduce their individual oil consumption, but they often don't do it. He's right, in that most Americans don't want to change their lifestyle, unless it's made convenient for them and/or they are forced to do so, economically. Bill Maher has made this argument as well and I agree with it.
Bingo. Gas is about 4 bucks out here in the Los Angeles area.
I thought during the end of the Bush Administration gas prices were at the tipping point and people were going to finally have enough but then sure enough gas prices lowered back down to around 2.50 or so. Made people complacent again. Now its back up and people are getting sick of it. We did lower oil consumption by a lot the last 4 years though which is good. Things like the light rail line they are building out here will help a ton to stop oil consumption in one of the meccas of driving and oil use, Southern California. As does making more gas efficent cars. However a complete non need of oil altogether would be the ideal.
Well, isn't this interesting? It's looking like The GOP are going to need a another bullshit wedge issue like gay marriage soon. Undoubtedly, Karl Rove and Fox News are cooking something up right now...
Sure. What this fails to note is that the unemoployment rate was between 4 & 5% until late 2007, when Bush was President. It began climbing out of control under Bush, and was at 7.8% and rising fast in January of 2009, the year Bush left office. It continued the out of control snowball rise that started durung the Bush administration until peaking in 2010.
Since that time (9.9% in April of 2010), the rate has actually been stabilizing and dropping slowly and steadily, down to 8.1% in April of 2012.
But you don't care about that. All you care about is throwing dirt on the President. Because that's what FOX fans do.
So do what you will. Just thought I'd throw a little bit of truth into your festival of lies.
The truth is unemployment rose under BO in spite of his claims of hope and change. The unemployment figures are still higher than when he took office. But the unemployment figures don't take into account the underemployed and those forced to leave the workforce. Under BO the workforce has declined along with payroll. _________________ Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by RFNAPLES Bubbling Under The Top 100 Greatest Mus...y RFNAPLES

The truth is that you fail to take into consideration that he inherited a snowball that was not going to be stopped miraculouskly, and was not going to magically disappear.
The truth is that you hide Bush's incompetence by blaming Obama.
