I think you're gay for not liking Katy Perry, Rihanna, etc... listening to their singles is like listening to a porno (e.g. redtube.com/2343)

Her musical tastes are what you would expect from a 16 year old.... she loves justin bieber. :x .... she started listening to country music however so thats good.... but now i have

this song stuck in my head.... and its going to stay there for a while.

My littlest brother is over a decade my younger, he listens to pretty much whatever I tell him is cool. The older siblings are always hard though, always being so rebellious. My eldest sister, about a year and a bit younger than me, only really listens to Fall Out Boy. The best way with them is to slowly transition them by showing them good bands with aspects similar to the bands they like, which will defuse their cynicism.

You say you sis likes Bieber? Well, feed her some good poppy stuff. Some Janelle Monae, maybe. Or Cee-Lo Green's work. Something with catchy, smooth melodies. Then, analyze the specifics of what they find appealing in that music. Introduce them to the softer, poppier songs by less mainstream artists. Over time, show them the full albums. It's a lengthy process, but it may be worth it if you care enough about your sister's musical variety.

I already introduced her to both.... she didnt like them lawlz.... she's more into country and girlypopmainstream shit like jhereko, and purple.... something like the band perry would be good but there is absolutely no country on BEA.

...does she like the good ole' Johnny Cash? What about classic folk music, like Dylan or Young? Maybe Buffalo Springfield or CS&N? Or Souther Rock bands, like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers Band?

Let's be honest Confused Tayler Swift isn't country. She's pop. There's like...maybe 5% of her that has a country 'vibe' It's kinda pathetic, As for her liking the Allman Brothers, I'm doubting it. Don't even try 60's country, like the Byrds or Flying Burrito Brothers. That's be a catastrophy.

As for the age thing, I'm slight younger to listen to (for lack of a better word) 'good' music. But I can understand why other kids want to listen to mainstream stuff, cause it's in, it's fun, everyone knows it, and it's designed ti be nubd0cobtrolling and catchy Very Happy

Shame I could do the same with a mic and a decent media program. Think

No, Taylor Swift is country. It's just, country kinda sucks ass now.
I mean, Rascle Flatts, Garth Brooks, Billy Ray Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus Jr., country has just degenerated into the most putrid crap imaginable.

Ah, it seems that she has a condition similar to my mothers, what I refer to as Apathetic Musical Taste Syndrome, or AMTS.

My sister does not suffer from AMTS, she just listens to shitty music, but people who DO suffer from AMTS typically don't see the "big deal" about music in the first place, and will typically listen just to whatever happens to be big on the radio. They like nice, pretty sounds, but overall think music is just a "waste of time" and don't like to consider music on any deeper level, nor do they seek to find any meaning in it or context.

It's very sad when someone suffers from AMTS, I've lost a few friends to the condition.

Sorry Jacko. But listing the worst junk of a genre does not mean that all of it sucks. There's plenty good stuff going on in country music. Rascal Flatts is just a country version of the Backstreet Boys, Garth is now an old git, and Billy Ray is trying to make whatever he thinks will sell.

EDIT: I'll try to think of some quality stuff that she might like. I'm pretty updated on the current country scene but am watching a movie with my wife at the moment.

EDIT 2: Oh and also, Taylor Swift is by no means untalented. She's pretty boring, but definitely not untalented.
