Davy Jones is from Manchester Smile He even appeared in 'Coronation Street' as a young boy back in the early 60s.

Apart from a member of some english alternative band the only famous musical person we've had is the guy who was the bassist for Jethro Tull from 1968 to 1971. So not much from here.
