Yeah Silver Apples certainly do sound interesting when you see that the album was made in the 60s.. But from what I have heard (about half of each album (on utube)), Fever Ray is better and the one album I'm (more) looking forward to hearing... So Fever Ray it is
I love Silver Apples because they had a massive influence on one of my favourite albums ever (Portishead's Third) and were years ahead of their time, pre-empting the Krautrock movement of Can, Faust and Kraftwerk, which in turn had a big influence on Bowie, Eno and 90's electronica
I know what you mean though, Silver Apples do have some very 'original' vocals that are sometimes best ignored
Joyofdivision, your not comparing Fever Ray to Gary Numan are you
Gary Numan is better IMO and has good lyrics.
And was making electronic music over 30 years before Fever Ray
No Gary, I was checking out Squishypuffs comments that Silver Apples reminded him of British comedy act The Mighty Boosh, when in fact they sound like one of their idols, Gary Numan.
Nothing wrong with that! Gary Numan's 'Are Friends Electric' and 'Cars' are both amazing
