Post subject: What's the best song named after a dance?
When I was thinking about songs named after dances, at first I thought it's kind of a thing of earlier decades. Until I thought about it. There have actually been a lot of them even in recent years, and there was even a big one this very year. Most of my choices are older though:
Tommy James.. My Baby Does the Hanky Panky
Grand Funk Railroad. The Locomotion
Chic. Le Freak
Quad City DJs. The Train. (C'mon, Ride It)
Beatles. Twist and Shout. (also by the Isley Brothers)
Van McCoy. The Hustle
English Beat. Twist and Crawl
Digital Underground. The Humpty Dance
Madonna. Vogue
GQ. Rock Freak (Disco Nights)
I feel like songs named after dances are generally terrible, with the rare exceptions. _________________ Nothing really matters, anyone can see, nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me.

Actually I should have said the best RECORDS named after dances, because you're right. As SONGS they're usually not very good, but as records they're often fantastic. At least more often than you would expect.
