I do agree with you somewhat, sometimes I think a song is "classic" just because it was new and different at the time. Sometimes though, it's considered a classic for a reason. I personally like "Free Bird," but don't like "Stairway to Heaven." At the end of the day, it's all about personal preference.
Some will complain it's another underated/overated thread, but this time it's about songs, not albums, isn't it ?
Yes. Songs not albums. And of course there are many underrated/overrated topics, even this may have been done before - will there come a day when there's absolutely nothing left that hasn't already been done?! _________________ Calling The Shots

ok, so I'd say :
The Smiths : "This Charming Man"
The Cure : "A Forest"
Morrissey : "The First of The Gang to Die" (not really a classic)
I don't get what the difficulty is with this, like sure there's plenty of well regarded stuff that I do not care for at all but there's always something to be like "oh yeah people are responding to that aspect". like with the animals song, its the vocal performance right?

I love the first two enormously but wouldn't expect to see them appear in, say, a top 50 list of classic pop songs. _________________ Calling The Shots
